The 5th Annual BUTTER Art Fair Celebrated Black Creativity at The Stutz in Indianapolis

Indianapolis once again became the center of art, culture, and creativity as the 5th Annual BUTTER: A Fine Art Fair transformed The Stutz into a vibrant showcase of Black artistic excellence. The multi-day event drew thousands of visitors from across the region, celebrating the power and beauty of contemporary art through the lens of Black creativity.

Founded by GANGGANG, BUTTER continued its mission to elevate and empower Black visual artists by providing a platform where they could not only showcase their work—but sell it without commission. The result was an inspiring celebration of authenticity, representation, and ownership in the arts.

The Stutz, a historic landmark in downtown Indianapolis, served as the perfect backdrop for this year’s fair. Its reimagined industrial spaces were filled with stunning paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed-media installations from both established and emerging artists. Each room invited attendees to experience art as a living, breathing conversation between culture, community, and innovation.

Beyond the art itself, the fair featured live music, panel discussions, and curated performances that reflected Indianapolis’ growing creative scene. Guests enjoyed a weekend of soulful expression, thought-provoking dialogue, and a genuine sense of unity that extended far beyond the gallery walls.

The 5th Annual BUTTER proved, once again, why it has become one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Midwest—a space where Black art is not only seen but celebrated and valued.
